Big news!

There are some big news that i need to share with you guys.

First i want to say that the last week has been slow, not alot of auctions going on.
But from April 1st things will be in hyper mode and i will be doing auction almost daily.
April is going to be busy, more then any other month so far this year.

Well i promised you some big news.

Here we go, I have been contacted by someone with a request of beeing involved in a new project regarding storage auctions. This concept will change alot of the business as we know it, and it is made to help everyone in business.

Alot of auction veterans "hates" the newbies, and the newbies tend to lose big when they try it out, and they kind of make it harder for them self and others.

Well i have been given the chance to be involved in a new Storage Auction Academy, this Academy is operating on a nationwide basis. It will help the whole business on every level.

The next two weeks i will be doing meetings with alot of people in the storage auction business, and we will soon make it public in the media.

More information will be posted in here as well.

I will see you all soon.

Time is flying, been a busy auction hunter.

The last two weeks has been so busy, barely time to anything else then auctions and sleeping.

Well i am back here again, and i am going to try my best to inform you how things are going.
Since i blogged the last time i have gotten 5 more units.
One of them was a bust, pure dump, and i was blinded for a moment, lol. I will brake even on it, but thats about it.

The other 4 was good, one unit had alot of XBOX stuff in it. another one had alot of BA framer art.
One had some really cool signs. I have totally on the last 5 units spent about 500 dollars, i expect a 3000 dollar return on it. So i am happy with that.

More auctions tomorrow, this is one of those independent ones, where we don't have a mega crowd.
Friday can be good to, with multiple locations and plenty of units.

I will be back here either on friday or saturday to tell you guys how it went.

Saturday, March 5, 2011

The last few weeks has been so busy with both work and auctions.
I have not had any time to post in here, and i am sorry for that.

Well what have happend since last time, well i have won two lockers, one was pretty normal, no WOW factor or special, it was a $40.00 unit that i made $350.00 on.

BUT yesterday was a total different story, i won a locker for $225.00 at public storage, it was a 5x5 unit packed to the edge of the locker.
So far i have only gone thru 3 boxes, there is 12 boxes and 3 plastic storage bins in there. pluss som electronics.

From what i have opend so far i am looking at a huge profit. I found over 7lbs of sterling silver. + alot of other stuff. I can't go to deep into what i found yet, but i will update you guys later on.

But this was my TV material locker for sure, lol this is what you see on tv, and like Darrel would say, "this is the wow factor"

My first pick

Yesterday i did something i have not done before. I went on a pick, i am sure some of you have seen American pickers on History channel.

Well i had some time to kill after a early ending at the auctions, so i stopped by a estate sale/ liqudation sale, and i picked a few things and got a really good deal on it.

I offerd them $25.00 for 5 items, and i got it.

What i got was 3 old fashion bankers lamps, and two folding tables in wood.
Later last night i got home and i googled the value of it.
The bankers lamps sells at Walmart for $67.50 a lamp ( $202.50) in retail value.
The wood tables sells at home depot for 39.99 a table ( $79.80) in retail value.
So paying $25.00 for all of that is not bad, i consider it a damn good deal.

What a week!

After a week with plenty of auctions, in multiple locations running at the same time, it has been hard to attend everything. But the last week gave me to lockers, one for $10.00 and one for $50.00

The $10.00 locker is nothing to jump up and down about, yeah i will get about $150.00 back on it in sales. And i have already sold for $75.00 out of it.

The $50.00 locker however, is my all time best locker so far. Here we are talking about a projected sales value of close to $1500.00, and thats not bad when i only paid $50.00 for it.

This locker belonged to a guy who was a security officer at night and running his own model and music production company during the day. I found tons of demo cd's and brand new published cd's in boxes.
I found a pair of brand new Levi's 501XX, i found 6 pairs of brand new shoes (top brands) i found movie scripts, i found original lyrics, i found a bulletproof vest, a gun holster, handcuff holster, pepperspray holstern and the belt, i found his uniform. On top of that i found $13.00 i change and one dollar bills. I found 5 brand new boxes (unopend) with cufflinks set complete with hankerchifs, suspenders and tie's.
I found tons of older cd's and dvd's i also found a few glassware products, i found two very nice flashlights.
Pluss i found alot of stuff that i am gonna sell for a dollar at the fleamarket.

So far this has been my locker with the so called "wow factor" and for $50.00 you can't complain.

I am now looking forward to next week, as plenty of more auctions are coming up. ANd march looks good as well.

This weeks auctions

This has been a busy week with alot of auctions, for once i am tierd and exhausted.
Well i managed to get another unit on tuesday, on the first day of Extra storage space tour.

It was a locker i got for 40 bucks, it looked all trashy and bad, i don't know why i even was bidding on it.
Well i got it for 40 bucks, so it would not be a big loss.

But when i started to go thru the unit i found one thing after the other that was good.
After taking inventory and gotten things priced, i am looking at a FAT PROFIT of 400 bucks. On this unit i will make 10 times my investment, maybe even more. The cool thing is that i two days later have sold for 125 bucks from this unit.

The good thing about the unit was that it was a 5x10 and it took me only 1 hour to empty and clean.

Now my weekend yardsale is coming up and i have more stuff to make money on.

Again i nailed it, another unit that will make me money.

Big auction week in Memphis

New week with new possibillities.
This week is going to be super busy, as we have auctions Monday thru Thursday, and with multiple locations each day.

I am going for a littlebit different units this week, i can't tell what kind of units i am after, i have competition reading my blog. lol...

Lets just say i am not after furniture, i hate hauling off big sofa's and chest's

My goal this week is minimum 4 lockers, but i am hoping for 6 or 7 lockers.

50 dollar locker that turned gold

For some reason i have yet to buy a bad locker. Except for my first one last year that has just made a 250 dollar profit.

After that things has been going pretty damn good. Last Thursday i won a locker with a 50 dollar bid, after spending 2 days going thru itand bringing stuff home i have found out that this locker is the best one so far. I am looking at a total sale of 1400-1600 dollars from this locker, and with a 50 dollar investment thats pretty cool.

This locker belonged to a guy who was into sports and music, and this is where i am gonna make my money. On top of that he had also regular stuff "man stuff".

We are talking about studio recording equipment, records (lp's) music memrobillia, gold rings, baseball equipment, lamps, glassware, tools, toolchest, old sports posters, sports books, one special rock, etc.

All the items above are good quality stuff. Stuff like JBL, Akai, Technics, Spaulding, Time, Craftsman, Starter, etc

I just love those 20-150 dollar lockers, they are the ones i have had the best luck with so far.

I can't wait for Monday and Tuesday to come, tons of auctions going on both days.

Sunday auctions are never good

Weekend auctions have never been a good thing.
So the auction Yesterday sucked! sorry for using that word, but it was so frustrating that i kind of got ticked off.

People DON'T bring you whole family to auctions, i mean when you show up with wife, 3 kids (2 in strollers) sister, friends, etc and all you do is take up space and blocking the veiw for us who are there to buy units. That in my mind is STUPID.

Another thing that is really bad, is when someone is not following the rules, yesterday we had a lot of people who either don't know the rules or just diden't give a shit about it.  When day say DO NOT enter the locker, and DO NOT TOUCH anything, they mean that. When some guys over and over walks into the units and starts to move things around, thats just wrong. But the worst thing about that is that the auctioneer did nothing about it. People like that should be banned for life from attending auctions.

Well new auction day today, i hope to get a few locker today. I am going for two units.

Friday, January 28, 2011

Home empty handed.

Todays auction was good, but i went home empty handed.
Well well an new auction is coming up on Sunday when Public Storage have their auctions.
More units and more location, i am all fired up.

Saturday, January 22, 2011

Friday 21st was a huge auction day.
I went to most locations this day and we ended up doing about 45 units.

This day i ended up with no units.
There was only a few i wanted to bid on, and they went way over what i wanted to pay for them.
So i am saving my money until next friday the 28th.

I have also started to make a auction calender for the rest og of the year, and omg, this will be a full time thing in the months to come.

LOL but i love it!

Thursday, January 20, 2011

My last auction win turned out to be the best.

After getting everything back to my place, i have started to go thru it.
This unit turns out to be a minature goldmine.

This is also the first time i find anything gun related. A 12 rounds Heckler and Kockh magasine.
It cleared with the Shelby County Sherriffs office and are ready to be sold.
I don't know the value of it, but it might bring a few bucks.
Beside that i got a brand new in box car radiator to a 2006/2007 Ford Taurus SE/SEL.
Band new food slicer unopend in box.
Brand new HP printer
Labratorie scale
Brand new analog to digital tv tuner
Tons of tools, and 2 set of Black and decker power tools.
Brand new Las vegas slot machine.
+ all the normal stuff, like paintings, glassware, fine china, ++++

So it turned out great. I am happy with this unit.

Tuesday, January 18, 2011

Got two units today.

I got two units today for a total of $165.00, and it was one of my better days out in the field.
The weather was better, the crowd was way smaller, about 10 people.

Well the one unit only had a dresser in it, and i only paid $15.00 for it. So it will tripple my spending without any problems. Maybe even 4 times my investment.

The second unit was a man's dream unit, i got it for $150.00 and it has tools, New unused carparts, glassware, digital cameras, tables, paintings/prints, clothing, marvel comic magazines, ++++ (and $26.00 in cash, mostly coins )
I have not looked thru it yet, so i don't know what is in it, just took a quick look after i had paid for the unit.

I will go back tomorrow with my transport guy and pick it up.

But i can say this much, this was my best unit so far. Just the brand new car parts are like $600.00 alone

New auction day tomorrow.

Tomorrow is yet again another auction day here in Memphis.
I can't wait to get out on the road and do some bidding.

3 location spread thruout the day can be good, as the crowd might be alot smaller then it has been.
I did the "must" call around today, to see if they are still on, and 3 out of 4 locations are on, with a total of 16 units up for auction.

I have a good feeling about this one, and i think this will be my big breakthru.

I  will as soon as i can post an update on how it went, so follow the blog this week.

There is also a mini auction on friday this week that i am looking forward to.

What to do inbetween stoarge auctions

Well there is no more auctions before the 18th.
Until then i run my own company selling power genrators and steel buildings. Infact i sell storage unit buildings.

But i can't stay away from auctions even innbetween the storage auctions. Online there are tons of auctions places where i roam around trying to find good deals. This keeps me on the go when the storage auctions starts again.

Did you know that the post office also have auctions? where they auctions off unclaimed packages and stuff.
Then you have goverment auctions online that are pretty cool. Where you can do a really great deal, even for a reselling point of veiw.

Keep the auction fever alive people!

My latest auction on january 12th

Again we was out doing the second day of Extra storage space tour.

And this day was good, TONS of nice lockers up for grab. One unit was sold for $300.00 and i am sure it is going to give the guy back 20 times that amount.

For my own part, i am very happy with what i got.
I got a unit for $20.00 this day, as i am trying to spread my investments on more units.
It was a 5x10 unit, and i looked all dusty, it looked like no one had been in there for years.

Well to my big suprise, none of the "big fish" wanted to bid on it, so i started of with a $5.00 bid, one guy did 15 right after that, so i bid $20.00 The guys looked at me and said, your trash now.

LOL he should only had known what was in there. My motto is, never turn a unit down because of it's looks. It is what's on the inside that counts.

Well i took it all back to my place, two trips in a little Nissan Sentra and the job was done.
Back home i started to go thru things, and one little "gold nugget after another came out of the dusty old boxes.

Here is what i got form this $20.00 dollar unit.

1 Porcelain sign from the Viktor company, they went out of business in 1921. And the sign is in almost mint condition.
One box full of old toys from the 50's and 60's
Two boxes full of glass plates and drinking glasses.
1 16 pice set of christmas fine china (unopen and brand new)
22 magazines from the 60's all about beatles and rolling stones.
1 black and white photo of John Lennon with autograph.
1 American creed letter from the US house of congress, sign by the congressman of Tennessee in 1964.
1 Fashionshow program signed by Roger Nelson him self.
1 black and white photograph of John Lennon (Beatles) signed. Might be a print, but have to have it checked out.
1 framed in A4 paper with at least 50 different autograph's i am not sure who signed it.
2 Programs from 1964 from the opera in St Louis
4 Official NASA catalogues from the 1964 regarding the moon landing with the apollo. (in mint condition)
1 catalogue of the lunar orbit expedition ( in almost mint condition)
1 old Memphis railway fare coin
4 old coasters
2 old menu's with add on "we sell pepsi" stickers
1 Secratary desk from the 1960's
1 old workout machine from the 1980's i think.
1 old flute from the 60's
+ tons of old pictures.

I am sure i am forgetting something, but the things listed above is absolutley worth the $20.00 bucks i paid for it.

So i had a very good day out in the field, even though we saw the low 20's here in Memphis yesterday.

Now i am looking forward to the auctions next week, can't wait for them to come.
These are the small ones, 4 locations each day. 18th and 21st is the magical days next week.

Auction on Tuesday January 11th

It was a cold day to have an auction.
But damn people showed up in numbers. There was about 30-35 people at the auctions.

I did not get any unit this day, did not find anyone i wanted. Well there was one but i was outbid, and it went over the amount i had set as my limit for that unit.

Today it is wedensday, and a new auction day, i hope to pick up at least 2 units today.
But again it is cold as hell out there.

I will update the blog tonight after the auction.

Bad weather, but good auction

Today we had a winter storm in Memphis, not often we have 5inches of snow.
This changed the auction a bit, as the first to locations have been moved to wedensday.

Well we hit about 9 locations today and the units ranged from really bad to extreamly good.
2 units sold for over $1400.00 and they was worth every penny. To hig for me right now, since i am looking for several units. And more auction days coming up.

Most units sold today for between $200.00 and $500.00 some of them way overpriced.
About 10-12 units went for under $100.00 and i felt that this was where you made the best buys today.

I got a unit for $25.00 and i have to say i am happy with it. Not alot of things in it, but the things that was in it was good. I have customers asking for those kind of products, so it should sell pretty fast.

I got:
2 printers
5 monitors
one box with 34 books, in good condition.
one treasure chest from the 1930's
4 old wooden USA made, from around the 40's and 50's i guess.
+ one thing i am not sure what is, but i think it is from WWII, and i think it was used by fighter plane pilots. I have to take it to someone to have it verified.
In the wooden chest there was about 15-20 books from the 1920's and 1930's. They are not in great condition, but still special so i want to have it checked out.

My spending was $25.00 i have customers on two of the desks, and together that will bring in $400.00
Everything else i sell from this will be bonus.

I have posted some pictures on our facebook page, and you can see them here.

Big day tomorrow (Monday january 10th)

Tomorrow we have 10 locations in Memphis and 3 locations in North Mississippi up for grab. As we are going to the U-store-it locations.

How many units that is up for auctions are not clear yet, but before the weekend it was said it was 59 units, but as we all know, this can change up until 5 minutes before the auctions starts.

My last U-store-it auction in December was a good one, i got one unit for $150.00 and it turned out good. Even though i got a unit that was alot of work.

This time i am looking for a special unit, a unit with tools would be cool this time around.
Tuesday we are hitting the Extra space storage, and they nomally have some good units as well.

This is gonna be one busy week.

Today's auction in Memphis

Today in Memphis,TN we had auction at all the U-stor locations.
13 locations, and a total of 31 units.

I got one unit today, for $170.00

The most exspensive one today went for $740.00 And the cheapest one went for $90.00
So pricewise it was a good day.

The crowd startet out with 14 people at 09:00, but around noon more people joined in, and after noon it was 28 people attending.
Not alot of new faces today, maybe 5-6 was new. But only one of the newbies was bidding at the end, and he was pushed up pretty high for a crappy unit, lol $460.00 for alot of blankets and stuffed garbage bags.  Hasta la vista "hype bidder"

There was 31 units in total, out of these 5 was crap, 7 was ok, and rest of them was good. From what we could see from the door.

overall i am very happy with how the day turned out, i got a unit with some boxes mixed with some furniture.
There was also a few bags in there. The unit is a 8x10 or something like that.
I paid under what i had sat as a limit before bidding, so thats good.

Tomorrow i will go back there and start to go thru everything, can't wait to open up all those drawers and boxes.  The furniture i know will tripple my spending in turnover. Then everything else is gravy.

The best of all with this unit, NO TRIPS to the DUMP. lol

Preparing for a busy month.

It is finally 2011, and the auctions can not come fast enough.
I am all pumped up and ready to go. On tuesday the 4th it starts with 13 locations here in Memphis, as we are going to all the U-Stor locations.

U-Stor have a little higher end clients then both U-store-it and Extra space storage, so it can turn out good.
This will be my first time on a auction route at U-stor, so i am super excited.

On the 10th of january we are going back on another tour around Memphis, this time it is U-store-it with 10 locations.

The day after, on the 11th, and 12th it is Extra storage space, and they have 24 locations these two days.
This is a good tour, i won a unit from these right before christmas for $50.00, the value of my sale so far is $560.00

Next up is Tellus storage, they have 4 locations around Memphis, and they have a reputation for having good units, and fewer bidders, between 6 and 12. This is a new one for me, so i am excited about this one. As one of their locations are 2 minutes away from my house. Almost in my backyard infact.

Then on the January 21st we are going to American mini storage, this will be my first time going to their locations, they have 4 locations around Memphis. I have been told that the last auction held there, someone won a unit with $7000 in cash in it.

So January will be busy, but in my world, busy is good.
